Please join us for our newest NYSBA Dispute Resolution Section, Domestic Arbitration Committee program, March 18, 2024 at 6pm:
Arbitration is a tantalizing career path for newer and more experienced attorneys alike, and for those who have taken a wide variety of career paths, including former judges and other government officials, partners and associates at large, medium-sized and small law firms, solo practitioners and in house lawyers. The benefits of a professional career as an arbitrator are readily understood, but there is no shortage of arbitrators, and breaking into the field can be challenging. Our panel includes a former federal judge, and former big and small firm partners and associates who became arbitrators at various stages of their professional careers. They each maintain busy arbitration practices, and have built those practices in different ways. The panel will talk about what has worked for them and what hasn’t, and we look for an interactive dialogue with the audience about tips and best practices for growing and maintaining an arbitration business.
Lawrence Weinstein will be leading the discussion of stellar panelists, Theo Cheng, Faith Hochberg and Pierre de Ravel d'Esclapon, each with different professional backgrounds, who will share their experiences in building successful practices as arbitrators and what has worked for them and what hasn't. Join us in person at the AAA's midtown offices (with in-person networking to follow) or virtually via ZOOM. Registration is required for this complimentary informational program.
This is a hybrid program, once you click "register", you can choose the in-person or virtual option. For those coming in person, there will be a networking reception with refreshments after the program concludes.
