The American Immigrant Representation Project (AIRP) and the Immigration Justice Campaign are pleased to offer a training that will equip you to represent longtime residents of the United States who are now facing deportation in record numbers. The training focuses on “Cancellation of Removal,” which is a discretionary form of immigration relief for greencard holders and undocumented individuals who have lived in the United States for many years and have strong ties to the country.

Description:
In light of new, draconian enforcement policies targeting hundreds of immigrants who should never be enforcement priorities, Cancellation of Removal is a critical lifeline for individuals who have lived productively in the United States, building and supporting families and futures here. Check out this Vox.com article on how Cancellation of Removal was the only hope for Omar Siagha, who had been living in the United States for over fifty years. This training will focus on cases for noncitizens detained at the Elizabeth Detention Facility near Newark, New Jersey, where AIRP and the Immigration Justice Campaign are actively seeking pro bono counsel for individuals in need of representation.
