Bridge the gap between law school and the realities of practicing law through presentations by experienced practitioners and a HANDS-ON 60 hour Pro Bono Practicum that will provide participants with the opportunity to: gain client interviewing skills, represent clients in court, negotiate with opposing counsel, and argue before a judge. Participants are supervised on site by attorneys with expertise in Consumer Debt, Housing, Divorce and Family law.
This training will focus on Family Law and will be from 9:00AM-3:30PM at NYC Civil Court on 111 Centre Street.
In return for CLE credits for the Pro Bono Practicum, participants are required to complete a 60 hour pro bono practicum assisting litigants in NYC Housing, Civil, Family and Supreme Courts within 9 months of training. (Newly admitted attorneys may use pro bono service credits on a carry-over basis). See attached flyer for more details.
Recent graduates and newly admitted attorneys must register for 3 sessions: Sessions I, II and III OR Sessions I, II and IV.
Experienced attorneys may register for one or more sessions and must serve 20 pro bono hours in return for the CLE credits received per session. All participants must attend the Ethics portion of the program in Session I.
