Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas will present an attorney of the Concho Valley the Criselda Paz Award. Criselda "Cris" Paz was the Managing Attorney in the San Angelo Legal Aid Office, and a member of this professional community for over 20 years. But more than that, she was a generous spirit and a zealous and compassionate advocate who served as an example of strength and dedication to others. Cris dedicated her life's work fighting for the rights of low income individuals and families. Even after being diagnosed with Stage 4 Cancer, Cris continued working diligently for her clients, her family, and her staff, until she succumbed to Cancer three years later. Since 2011, The San Angelo Legal Aid office has given an award in honor of Cris to a Concho Valley area attorney who best exemplifies the attributes that made Cris an inspiration to those around her. The attributes are diligence, professionalism and community contribution. This year, this award will be presented to Theodore "Tip" Hargrove III.
