Pandemic Legal Assistance Network

The coronavirus pandemic has generated complex and challenging legal issues that threaten the financial security and stability of American individuals and families. Many Americans face these challenges when long-term symptoms of COVID-19 have limited their functional capacity or prevented them from working altogether. The most common legal issues that arise related to COVID-19 include challenges securing eligibility for workplace benefits like short-term and long-term disability insurance, disability discrimination, unemployment compensation, contract disputes, medical malpractice, and more.

Pandemic Patients, a 501(c)(3) non-profit patient advocacy organization that works to relieve the harm caused by COVID-19 and Post-COVID Conditions, administers the Pandemic Legal Assistance Network (PLAN) to help patients and survivors of COVID-19 connect with pro bono legal assistance. Through PLAN, Pandemic Patients works to match COVID-19 patients and survivors with volunteer attorneys who can help resolve their legal issues.

Pandemic Patients invites attorneys from all 50 states and the District of Columbia to participate in PLAN. Attorneys of all backgrounds are encouraged to participate, and attorneys with experience in the following areas of law will be especially helpful:

  •      Contract Law
  •      Employment Law
  •      Health Law
  •      Disability Law

Pandemic Patients offers mentorship and training to lawyers who participate in the Pandemic Legal Assistance Network. Attorneys who participate in PLAN do so under the supervision of Andrew Wylam, who is a lawyer and the President of Pandemic Patients. If you are interested in participating in the Pandemic Legal Assistance Network to help those in need, contact Andrew Wylam, at a.wylam@pandemicpatients.org.
