ILEAP's mission is to provide low-cost, high-quality immigration-related legal services and educate communities in Southeastern Massachusetts concerning immigration law and policies.
We provide free and low-cost legal services for low-income refugees and immigrants, including assistance with immigration documents, and legal representation before government agencies. We provide legal representation on immigration matters including consular processing, adjustment of status, naturalization, family petitions, political asylum, TPS, and removal defense. We also present education workshops, trainings and conferences on current immigration trends and policies impacting immigrant communities in Southeastern Massachusetts.
We service the Fall River Diocese in Massachusetts which covers Fall River, New Bedford, Taunton, Attleboro, the Cape and the islands.
ILEAP is staffed by two full-time attorneys, two paralegals, two caseworkers, and student interns. ILEAP also makes use of pro-bono attorney services.
Pro bono attorneys, paralegals and law students provide information and limited court representation for clients. Law students do research of country conditions and other immigration issues for specific cases.
Short-term opportunities: prepare and conduct clinics and outreach events.
