Rian empowers immigrants, refugees, and international exchange visitors on the path to opportunity, safety and a better future. As New England’s Welcome Center for immigrant and refugee families, we seek to be proactive, responsive and innovative in meeting the needs of immigrant families. Our vision is of a shared society where all people are welcomed, valued, and enjoy equitable opportunities and protections. Rian is committed to anti-racism and building an organizational culture in which all guests, employees, and volunteers feel a sense of belonging, safety and feel valued.
The Legal Services Team provides free consultations and free or low-fee case representation for a wide array of applications and petitions.
Monthly, we host Forms Workshop, which provide volunteer attorneys and law students with the opportunity to assist members of our community with completing basic immigration forms, including citizenship applications, applications for temporary protected status, green card renewals, and work permit renewals.
This is a one-off volunteer opportunity that will only take a few hours of your time, but will make a world of difference to our neighbors who need these documents to continue working, going to school, and contributing to our city!
Many of our clients prefer Spanish or Haitian Creole, but if you do not speak these languages, we can provide interpreters!
