In order to address the backlog of habeas corpus petitions that have been filed in the United States District Court, Eastern District of Michigan, the Court has entered into a unique partnership with Thomas M. Cooley Law School. Selected law students will review habeas corpus petitions and will draft proposed opinions and orders for the assigned magistrate judge. The students will be supervised by the Executive Magistrate Judge and Professors.
