Our Zoom Forum will allow participants to interact with other members of the community with the goal of exchanging ideas and possibly improving their day-to-day operations. The hour-long discussion will take place via Zoom and will feature moderators who will facilitate the conversation.

Please note that there is no CLE for participating in this event.

With the emergence of Artificial Intelligence in the workplace, there are many concerns and discussions about how this technology will affect the legal community. This forum will explore the concerns surrounding the use of AI in the legal services environment, and the ways legal aid programs are using the technology effectively, while also evaluating how failing to adopt these technologies may exacerbate the existing access to justice gap. You will have the opportunity to exchange thoughts and questions with other members of the legal services community on the use of this technology.

As this is meant to be an interactive experience, we ask that you think about these topics and be prepared to share your thoughts and experiences. Space is limited for this event therefore register soon!

By participating in this forum attendees will have an opportunity to hear about and discuss the following topics:

  • Industry Trends
  1. Brief overview of AI as well as the latest developments in the legal sector
  2. Benefits such as timesaving in document generation and preliminary research
  3. ABA guidelines on tech competency for legal professionals
  • Equity and Privacy Concerns
  1. The digital divide and access to AI in legal services; the potential for AI to widen the gap between small and large firms, and between indigent vs. private clients
  2. Risks related to client confidentiality and data security
