Who Should Attend:
Pre?purchase and foreclosure prevention counselors and other staff from nonprofit housing counseling agencies, employees of fair housing organizations, Fair Housing Assistance Programs, disability rights organizations, consumer protection agencies and local, state and federal agencies. Attorneys and staff
from legal services and other nonprofit legal advocacy agencies are also invited.
Certain communities, particularly those of color, were targeted for mortgages that were unsuitable, non?sustainable and often predatory. Learn how fair housing and fair lending laws apply to your client's situation so that you are better equipped to identify potential lending violations and patterns in the mortgage application and loss mitigation process. You will learn that mortgage servicers must comply with fair housing and fair lending laws as they consider your clients for loan modifications and other alternatives to foreclosure.

- Information About Local Fair Housing Agencies

- New York Foreclosure Laws and Procedures
- Special Protections for Active Duty Military

Training participants will receive a Certificate of Attendance at the completion of the training.
Technical assistance from NFHA is available to training participants on issues relating to fair housing, fair lending and foreclosure prevention.
