Building Capacity to Support Homeowners with the Form to Request an Independent Review
February 29 & March 6
WHAT: A free webinar training to provide guidance to counselors, legal aid staff, and other advisors who are assisting borrowers complete the Request for Review form.
WHY: Federal banking regulators issued enforcement actions against 14 large mortgage servicers for deficient residential mortgage servicing practices.
Under those actions, the servicers were required to retain independent consultants to review foreclosures that were initiated, pending, or completed during 2009 or 2010.
The review is intended to determine if borrowers suffered financial harm directly resulting from errors, misrepresentations, or other deficiencies that may have occurred during the foreclosure process.
Submitting the Request for review form is the first step in this review process.
