This training will review the various immigration law issues faced by non-citizens who have been convicted or accused of criminal conduct. The training will primarily cover the following: a) good moral character bars and deportation risks for non-citizens with criminal records who are pursuing naturalization; and b) bars and waivers for non-citizens with criminal records who are applying for adjustment of status. It will also touch briefly on criminal bars to asylum, relief from removal, detention issues and intake strategies. This training will be conducted by Cheryl David, Esq.
- CLE Credit Comments: CLE Credit: 3 credits in professional practice. This course provides transitional credit for newly admitted attorneys and non-transitional credit for experienced attorneys.
