People with disabilities are considered to be among our most vulnerable citizens. Advocates are crucial in protecting the rights of people with disabilities in judicial and administrative proceedings as well as in future care planning.

This program is designed to introduce attorneys to the nature of disabilities and build the skills necessary to ensure that people with disabilities retain their autonomy and enjoy community integration and employment opportunities consistent with their abilities in the least restrictive environment.  The ethical implications of representing people with diminished capacity will also be explored.
