National Center on Law & Elder Rights logoThe National Center on Law & Elder Rights will be holding a webinar entitled Legal Basics: Elder Financial Exploitation on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm Eastern.

Elder financial exploitation costs victims, families, governments, and businesses more than $2.9 billion annually and affects millions of older adults. Every legal advocate needs a basic understanding of what financial exploitation is and how to recognize, prevent, and respond to it effectively.

Participants in the webinar, will obtain a basic understanding of the following, along with helpful action tools:

  • Types of elder financial exploitation and its extent & cost;
  • Victim characteristics;
  • Detection tools;
  • Action steps & ethical issues; and
  • Remedies and system change opportunities.

Webinar participants will also receive a Chapter Summary, detailing the presentation. The Chapter Summary will be available at: ncler.acl.gov.
