The National Center on Law & Elder Rights will be holding a webinar entitled Legal Basics: Elder Financial Exploitation on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 2:00 pm Eastern.
Elder financial exploitation costs victims, families, governments, and businesses more than $2.9 billion annually and affects millions of older adults. Every legal advocate needs a basic understanding of what financial exploitation is and how to recognize, prevent, and respond to it effectively.
Participants in the webinar, will obtain a basic understanding of the following, along with helpful action tools:
- Types of elder financial exploitation and its extent & cost;
- Victim characteristics;
- Detection tools;
- Action steps & ethical issues; and
- Remedies and system change opportunities.
