Queering Immigration Conference is the largest gathering of LGBTQI immigrants/previously detained/asylum seekers, organizers, service providers, legal workers, healthcare providers, community healers, and more in the world. We will highlight emerging strategies and new frameworks that focus on ending violence and provide resources for LGBTQI asylum seekers/ detainees/ undocumented/ and immigrants. This will be done through providing information, resources, engaging in skill shares, and providing healing to those that are in attendance while also creating creative solutions that provide alternatives to immigration prisons and to stop policing of our communities. The conference topics range from asylee/asylum seeker issues, Know Your Rights trainings, the policing of our communities, Detention/Prison Divestment, HIV/AIDS, detention systems, solitary confinement, Transwomen Empowerment, how to organize systems of resistance, messaging, social media, life- post detention, faith and immigration, refugees, alternative- to- detention building, program development, funding strategies/ workshops, skill shares, legal, and holistic healing.
