Whether representing children, parents or a child welfare or foster care agency, in private practice, government, public interest practice or as a policy advocate, the environment in which advocates operate is increasingly complex. This has never been more true as new initiatives in Family Court emerge. Join us for PLI’s 26th Annual Children’s Law Institute to learn about a variety of legal and social issues affecting child welfare and juvenile justice practice.
What You Will Learn
After completing this program, participants will be able to:
- Summarize the latest updates in child welfare and juvenile justice law
- Apply the Parental Equity Act to child welfare practice
- Understand the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children and its interplay with Family Court proceedings
- Reflect on how to effectively and empathetically work with clients with disabilities
