An Open Dialogue for Civil Legal Services Attorneys Assisting Domestic Violence Survivors in New York

We hope that everyone is continuing to stay safe in this third (fourth? fifth?) wave of the health crisis in New York. As we did in the last winter, Empire Justice Center will make an open space for civil legal services providers assisting domestic violence survivors to come together to share updates, issues, concerns, creative ideas and successes as we continue our work in these unprecedented times where things continue to change daily.

I’ll be moderating the call to give people in different regions of our state and serving diverse client bases an equal opportunity to share.  Discussion topics will include, but not be limited to:

• Legislative approaches to coercive control
• Orders of protection in this COVID world
• The impact of backlog of cases in the courts
