What is complex trauma?  How might understanding it assist you in your work with clients? Regardless of the type of law you practice, you will likely encounter clients with trauma histories.  This session will focus on how COVID-19 can activate the brains of trauma survivors in ways that may get in the way of your work with them, and what you can do to increase the chance you’ll be effective.  By breaking down the science of how the brain deals with threat, and what the brain considers threat, Dr. Wilson will both illustrate why the pandemic is so challenging for many trauma survivors and what practitioners can do to better serve their clients.
