Public Affairs Luncheon "The Chickenshit Club: Why the Justice Department Fails to Prosecute Executives," by Pulitzer-Prize Winning Author Jesse Eisinger

Many observers remain puzzled that following the 2008 financial meltdown, not a single financial executive has gone to prison. Why is this? Drawing on a decade of experience investigating corporate misdeeds, Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter Jesse Eisinger recounts a pithy phrase former U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York James Comey uttered to describe prosecutors who decline to go after the big fish, difficult though those cases may be: "We have a name for prosecutors who have never lost" the 'Chickenshit Club.'"

In this program, as in his book of the same name, Eisinger will explain why he thinks the Justice Department is failing to prosecute executives and what he thinks needs to be done to ensure proper enforcement of white collar crime. The Public Affairs Luncheon Series features speakers who address matters of public interest. The luncheons provide a forum to enable members of the City Bar to network, socialize and discuss matters of interest. The luncheons are open to the public.
