If you want to learn immigration law and are ready for an accelerated e-learning experience, register for CLINIC’s Comprehensive Overview of Immigration Law. This intensive six-week e-learning course provides immigration law advocates and new practitioners with an overview of core immigration law concepts and the practice skills necessary to be an effective advocate. This course is a great way to quickly learn the fundamentals of immigration law necessary to be an effective practitioner and establish the training background to support an application for BIA accreditation.

Course Structure:
The course starts on September 6, 2016 with access to the e-learning course website.  Each week of the course includes two units, and each unit focuses on a specific theme.  Each of the 12 units will consist of a live webinar and a set of self-directed activities, which include readings, exercises and a quiz. The webinars will be recorded, allowing students the flexibility to work the course into their busy schedules. The course is interactive, with opportunities for online and real-time discussion among students, and between students and instructors. The course concludes with an open-book final exam that students have three weeks to complete.

Who Should Take This Course:
This course is appropriate for the aspiring or new practitioner who is prepared to make the time commitment required to fully participate in this course and complete its requirements. This course has an accelerated pace, including two 90-minute webinars each week, as well as self-directed learning activities to support each course unit. Overall, a course participant should expect to spend between eight and ten hours each week to attend or listen to recordings of the weekly webinars, and complete the corresponding course activities.  If you have the time to devote to this learning experience, then this course is a great way to quickly learn the fundamentals of immigration law. Course Completion Requirements:
Course participants will receive a course completion certificate if they (a) attend or view recordings of each of the twelve course webinars; (b) complete each unit quiz; and (c) complete an open-book final exam.  You have until November 10, three weeks after the last live webinar in the course, to meet these requirements.
