The mission of Legal Aid of East Tennessee is to ensure equal justice for elderly, abused, and low income persons, providing a wide range of civil legal assistance and advocacy. LAET staff is able to offer services to only a small fraction of the low-income persons who apply for legal assistance. By volunteering through LAET's Pro Bono Project, lawyers and other members of the legal community assist many of the people LAET cannot serve.
