The threat and impact of the Coronavirus are falling disproportionately on those with low-incomes or who are marginally housed.  In this program, Kara Brodfuehrer of National Housing Law Project and Katie Wutchiett of Legal Aid at Work will cover how existing rights apply in these unprecedented circumstances, practical tips, and what developments are occurring on the national, state, and local level, including recent and pending legislation, to help families endure this public health emergency.

This presentation will cover:

Housing:

  • eviction and foreclosure protections
  • protections from utility shut-offs
  • best practices for eviction moratoriums

Employment:

  • protecting employment, including paid sick days and leaves
  • wage replacement during leaves or unemployment
  • other related rights and protections
