Practising Law Institute is offering a free one-hour briefing via webcast entitled In-House Counsel Pro Bono: Challenges, Best Practices, and Opportunities for Engagement on October 23, 2018 at 1:00 PM Eastern.
An expert panel will discuss some of the issues the legal community faces surrounding pro bono work by in-house counsel. They will explore methods and opportunities for in-house counsel to engage in pro bono work. Topics will include:
Experiences of attorneys working from various perspectives -- an in-house corporate attorney, Pro Bono Counsel for an AmLaw 100 firm, and the Corporate Engagement Counsel for a nonprofit that regularly works with in-house counsel
Best practices for overcoming challenges of in-house counsel pro bono engagement, such as subject-matter and time constraints
A brief overview of resources available to in-house counsel for finding and engaging in pro bono work
All in-house counsel interested in pro bono are encouraged to attend, as are law firm attorneys and nonprofit attorneys who partner or are interested in partnering with in-house counsel on pro bono matters.
