Learn how to file a Article 17A guardianship in Kings County Surrogates Court to designate a family member or friend to act on behalf of a person over the age of 18 who has an intellectual or development disability. Our panel of experts will provide an overview of 17A guardianship, including a discussion of when and how to pursue guardianship and alternatives to guardianship. You will also learn how to complete 17A guardianship forms.
- CLE Credit Comments: This course is FREE to those who accept one pro bono 17A guardianship matter from the Brooklyn Bar Association Volunteer Lawyers Project before May 7, 2019. Experienced attorneys receive additional CLE credit for every 2 hours of eligible pro bono service. The cost is $150 for attorneys who do not wish to take a pro bono case.
