The LGBT Advocacy Project and the Planning and Estates Law Project (PELP) will conduct a free training for volunteer attorneys on the basics of will preparation for low-income New Yorkers. The training will provide an overview of will preparation, cover in detail the form prepared by PELP for use in all City Bar Justice Center (CBJC) projects, and answer questions following the presentation. The training will also cover cultural sensitivity issues specific to the LGBT community and low-income New Yorkers. Volunteers will be matched with eligible pro bono clients subsequent to the training.

This training does not provide CLE credit, but CBJC will provide CLE credit in the area of “skills” upon completion of pro bono work.
