Stalking is a crime that is often misunderstood and missed, yet one that affects millions of individuals each year. It is essential for all professionals to understand the dynamics of stalking in order to enhance the safety of victims of stalking. In this session we will explore the prevalence and dynamics of stalking, the effect on victims, and the implications for legal services professionals. In this interactive workshop, participants will have an opportunity to learn about the common ways in which offenders stalk, including the use of technologies, such as phones, computers, video cameras, and global positioning systems (GPS). Participants will also explore evidentiary issues related to authenticating and admitting tech evidence and safety considerations for victims of stalking.
