The National Association of Pro Bono Professionals will be holding a webinar entitled Staying Whole, Even When Clients Go to Pieces: Three Tools for Decreasing Secondary Trauma on October 29, 2015 at 1;00 pm.

Working in the pro bono arena is often emotionally challenging, for those working with volunteers and for volunteers themselves.  Learning how to channel these emotions and educating those we work with to do the same can make all of the difference.

This interactive training identifies the symptoms and results of vicarious trauma.  It introduces three specific tools participants can use to increase the body’s natural resiliency and demonstrates proper use of self-administered “resiliency scan” to reduce body constrictions and damage to emotional and reasoning functions.  Participants will learn and experience the impact and incidence of vicarious trauma, and help increase their natural body, mind and emotional staying power.

Presenter Michelle Sylvain holds an MBA and JD from the University of Denver and has completed post-graduate work at Harvard University School of Law.
