The Practising Law Institute is offering a free webcast of a live presentation from New York entitled Limited Scope Representation 2015: Ethical & Practical Challenges on August 4, 2015 at 12:00 Noon Eastern.
To respond to the access to justice crisis facing the legal system, the civil legal services community and the judiciary have partnered in the expansion of services based on limited scope representation.
Information tables, drop-in legal clinics, websites and help lines are all models in which an attorney takes limited responsibility for a client’s case. Many of these models expand access by employing volunteer attorneys and law students to provide services on a “limited scope” basis.
This program will address the ethical and practical issues and concerns arising from the diversification and expansion of this model of representation.
