The American Bar Association Commission on Domestic & Sexual Violence, in collaboration with The Hague Domestic Violence Project, Goldman School of Public Policy, University of California, Berkeley, and with support from the U.S. Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women, is pleased to announce the webinar series: Fleeing For Safety: Representing Battered Respondents in International Child Abduction Cases Under the Hague Convention.

This three-part webinar is designed to prepare practicing attorneys to best represent battered respondents in when there is a petition for return of the children under the Hague Convention. Sessions will focus on the experiences of battered mothers and their children in international child abduction cases, how to represent a respondent mother against a Hague Convention petition for return, why child exposure to domestic violence should qualify as an exception and how to preserve the record for appeal.
