If you want to learn about immigration law and are ready for a new, accelerated e-learning experience, CLINIC’s latest e-course, Comprehensive Overview of Immigration Law, was designed with you in mind. This intensive six-week e-learning course provides the new immigration practitioner with an overview of core immigration law concepts as well as the practice skills necessary to be an effective advocate. This course is a great way to quickly learn the fundamentals of immigration law necessary to be an effective immigration practitioner, and establish the training background to support an application for BIA accreditation. Course Structure:
Each week of the course includes two units, and each unit focuses on a specific theme.  Each of the 12 units will consist of a live webinar and a set of self-directed activities, which include readings, exercises and a quiz.The course concludes with an open-book final exam which students have two weeks to complete. Course instruction is provided by expert immigration law attorneys from CLINIC’s Training and Legal Support section. This course is appropriate for the new practitioner who is prepared to make the time commitment required to fully participate in this course and complete course requirements. This course has an accelerated pace, meeting twice per week, and, consequently, covers more material in six weeks than our standard introductory course. The webinars will be recorded, allowing students the flexibility to work the course into their busy schedules. If you have the time to devote to this learning experience, then this course is a great way to quickly learn the fundamentals of immigration law. Course participants will receive a course completion certificate if they (a) attend or view recordings of the weekly course webinar and (b) complete each weekly course quiz.   You have up to 30 days after the last live webinar in the course to meet these requirements.

The training is for the staff of Catholic Charities and other community-based organizations with IRS 501(c)(3) status, and attorneys and legal staff of private law offices.  If you are registering as staff of a community-based organization, you must fax a copy of your IRS 501(c)(3) letter designating your agency as a nonprofit entity to CLINIC at (301) 565-4824 to the attention of Jon Braswell. Your registration will be confirmed upon receipt of this letter. If you are an attorney, please include your state bar number. Payment is by credit card only. Please be sure to register under the correct category and for the correct training. All registration changes or cancellations are subject to an administrative charge of $70.00.  Please note that CLINIC can only issue refunds for an e-learning course until one week prior to the first day of the training. Please provide the full name and a working email address for each individual taking this course.  We will communicate with each registrant via email only, so it is very important that we have the correct name and email address for each registrant listed on the registration form.
