The Immigration Advocates Network (IAN) is excited to announce its third annual e-conference, "Cutting Edge Issues in Immigration Law," from November 3 to November 7, 2014. Join us for a week-long series of interactive online trainings with national experts in screening and intake, Special Immigrant Juvenile Status, the grounds of inadmissibility, advocacy for clients with criminal complications, and U Visas. We explore the issues through the lens of current events and latest developments in the law. The cost of each two-hour training session is $25. Your support helps IAN offer free trainings and resources throughout the year.

About this Session:
This session will focus on advocacy for clients with possible criminal complications who are filing for DACA and non-DACA deferred action or other administrative relief. It will cover how to identify a problem, clean up criminal records, address arrests, and avoid negative consequences. The panelists are Mony Ruiz-Velasco, Attorney, Law Offices of Mony Ruiz-Velasco; Paromita Shah, Associate Director, National Immigration Project of the National Lawyers Guild (NIP-NLG); and Rosa G. Saavedra-Vanacore, DACA Fellow, NIP-NLG.
