Why You Should Attend

Program Chair Robert A. Hawley, Deputy Executive Director of the State Bar of California, has assembled a stellar faculty of noted ethics experts to share their knowledge and perspectives with attendees. The program will detail the practical ethical considerations attorneys should consider when engaging in pro bono representation, including eligibility of clients, challenging clients, conflicts, expectations on both sides, case management responsibility, and different delivery models, such as limited scope representation. Faculty from legal services, large law firms and corporate law departments will answer questions regarding the professional responsibility obligations of pro bono legal service from their varied perspectives, encourage attorneys to engage in this professionally rewarding aspect of law practice, and remove ambiguities that are barriers to engaging in pro bono legal services.
