Life Cycle of a Nonprofit Organization: Nonprofits continue to face difficult economic times. This session will provide an overview of the legal issues confronting nonprofit boards and their managers. Topics include: Corporate structure and the role of the board; IRS and State regulatory oversight of tax exempt, not-for-profit corporations; significant organizational changes.

Mergers and Strategic Alliances: This program will address the legal structures nonprofit corporations utilize to achieve mergers and create parent-subsidiary relationships.

OR

Lobbying Regulation: This program will review definitions of lobbying activity and reporting requirements for organizations engaged in legislative advocacy at the federal, state and local levels.

Employment Law: This program will address important employment law issues encountered by nonprofit corporations in the current economic climate.

Ethical Issues in Pro Bono Representation: This program will address the attorney-client relationship, conflicts of interest, and other ethical issues in the context of pro bono representation of nonprofit corporations.
