Even though New York State has effectively abolished the death penalty, there are currently more death penalty cases pending in New York than ever before. New York currently has more federal death penalty cases than any other state. The Department of Justice has recently changed its protocol for capital cases. This program's esteemed panel will provide an overview of the federal death penalty in New York.
