This year's conference represents a 10-year anniversary marker of the current configuration of free legal services providers in Arkansas. Although many legal aid advocates in Arkansas have devoted many decades to serving low-income clients, it was 10 years ago when mergers of legal services organizations began in an effort to more effectively represent low-income Arkansans.

As this year's conference theme-Pieces of Justice-suggests, we will expand upon the concept of multi-dimensional legal advocacy, but with a focus on better using existing statewide resources to achieve this goal. We will weave the lessons learned from the recent past and the historic threads of the early years of legal aid to help understand our current role as a legal aid advocates.

This will be a working conference where we actively seek a new vision of 21st century multi-dimensional legal advocacy for low-income Arkansans. There will be a total of 16 CLE hours including substantive law trainings on: consumer, family, housing, disability rights, public benefits and other trainings.
