With the drastic increase in fees for immigration applications and petitions on July 30, 2007 and then an additional fee increase that became effective November 23, 2010, more practitioners seek to submit to the USCIS requests for a fee waiver for clients who are unable to pay the fees. This training will cover the July 20, 2007 USCIS fee waiver guidance as well as the proposed fee waiver guidance and the new Form I-912, Request for Fee Waiver, as well as provide practical tips for preparing and submitting a fee waiver request. This training will be conducted by Helen Drook, Esq., Senior Staff Attorney from the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG).
