Every six to eight weeks Mayor Gavin Newsom's office and city agencies partner with nonprofits to serve San Francisco's homeless residents at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium. Project Homeless Connect (PHC) serves over 2000 homeless people, providing them with food, clothing and health, social and legal services all at once in one single place.

PHC has been operating for more than 4 years, and the Volunteer Legal Services Program (VLSP) has been involved from the start, providing legal assistance with the help of volunteer attorneys and also helping clients obtain their California ID.

VLSP can always use attorneys with at least 5 years of experience in family law, personal injury, consumer, immigration, landlord/tenant, and/or criminal law to volunteer at PHC.

Attorneys without this experience, law students, and paralegals are also needed as intake interviewers, runners and escorts.

We are looking for volunteers to fill one of the three following shifts:

9 a.m. - 1 p.m; 12 p.m. - 4 p.m; or 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

If you are interested in volunteering for this event on December 8th, or would like to be informed of upcoming Project Homeless Connects, please email Megan Colla at mcolla@sfbar.org.
