Develop the ability to access critical educational/developmental services for young children ages 0-5 who are the subjects of abuse and neglect proceedings in the New York City Family Courts. The session will include an overview of the Early Intervention Program and the Preschool Special Education system, a discussion of the barriers interfering with children's access to available services while they are in foster care, and an explanation of how to advocate to overcome these obstacles.
