Session One: Victim Intake Services, Immigration- 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon
Session Two: Logistics of Case Proceedings- 1:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Human trafficking is a modern day form of slavery. Most individuals trafficked into the U.S. from abroad are women and children who are placed into situations of forced labor or commercial sexual exploitation. This training will equip attorneys to help survivors navigate the complex legal system, ensure their protection from retaliation by traffickers, seek justice for the crimes committed against them, and secure legal immigration status in the U.S. The first session will cover what attorneys should expect during victim intake and preliminary immigration procedures, with the second session delving into the logistics of both criminal cases and civil cases involving trafficking survivors.

This is an MCLE training. Tuition is free if attorneys commit to accepting at least one pro bono case within a year of the session. If attorneys cannot commit to that, we ask for a donation of your choosing, starting at $20. Participants are encouraged to attend both sessions.
Please RSVP to Tracey Lesetar at tlesetar@orrick.com or call (916)329-4981 for more information. This session will carry 6.0 hours of MCLE credits (total).
