The Asylum Project pairs volunteer attorneys with applicants for political asylum and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement detainees. Opportunities for attorneys and paralegals include brief writing, legal research, collecting country and human rights reports, and representation of clients in brief and discrete credible fear interviews, as well as more involved proceedings in the U.S. Immigration Court.

Training includes information on detainees (who they are, why they are being held, grounds for exclusion, where they are detained); bond and parole; asylum; immigration court practice and procedure; and forensics.

This training is offered in conjunction with the Atlanta Bar Association's "Pro Bono March Madness" program.

Fees: $35 for Atlanta Bar Association members; $45 for non-members; $10 for paralegals/law students/legal support staff
