The Midwest legal Immigration project is presenting its eleven annual week-long Basic Immigration Law training seminar the week of April 5 - 9, 2010. The Seminar is intensive and comprehensive, geared to provide attorneys and non-profit personnel with the background and knowledge t0 practice basic immigration law on a competent basis.

The course has been well-attended and well-received by both attorneys and non-profit personnel from all parts of the United States. It is designed to provide beginning attorneys and attorneys seeking a new practice area with the necessary knowledge and insight to begin and sustain a viable and competent immigration law practice. The course is meant to privde non-profit personnel with the basic knowledge and skills to obtain accreditation on the first level of immigration law practice pursuant to 8C.F.R. sec. 292.2.

The seminar held at the Holiday Inn Hotel on 4800 Merle Hay Road in Des Moines, Iowa. The facility is attractive and has uniformly provided good service and excellent meals. Special room rates are available for seminar attendees. Other motels are located nearby.

Seminar tuition includes breakfast and lunch, and all course materials. Course materials are provided by the Legal Immigrant Resource Center of San Francisco.

  • CLE Credit Comments: This course normally provides for 34 hours or Immigration Law and 2 hours of Ethics CLE. However, as each state has different reporting requirements, we leave it up to the individual attorneys to obtain the requisite forms and make the appropriate submissions to their won respective state CLE commission. We are ready and willing to assist in this process. In the past, we have uniformly been granted CLE credit from each state requested.
