Civil rights issues impact all aspects of daily life from employment to public benefits to law enforcement. This seminar will provide an overview of civil rights issues in employment discrimination law, public benefits law, civil rights in schools, rights and laws at the U.S. border, and rights and laws in relation to law enforcement.

In addition, pro bono lawyers and others interested in civil rights issues will receive practical tips on issue spotting, intake techniques, cultural and religious sensitivity issues, and information on how to offer limited on-the-spot Know Your Rights counseling on applicable issues.

Free to attorneys that volunteer for pro bono work through the South Asian Bar Association of Northern California (SABA-NC) or Asian Law Caucus (ALC). To attend the training at no charge, you must contact Angie Loyola at angiel@sccba.com.
