This training session is intended to prepare pro bono attorneys who may find that they have more advanced issues in their cases than the general asylum claim. Topics include international and U.S. asylum law, bars to asylum, appeals before the Board of Immigration Appeals or Circuit Courts, and alternative forms of fear-based immigration relief, such as withholding of removal and protection under the Convention Against Torture. Appropriate for attorneys, paralegals and law students.
