On Tuesday, February 10, 2009, the NYC Bar Association Committee on Pro Bono and Legal Services will host Pro Bono Opportunities Day 2009. The event will be held at the NYC Bar, 42 West 44th Street (between Fifth and Sixth Avenues), NYC, from 4:30 pm to 7:00 pm, with a reception to follow.

The program will include a two-credit ethics CLE seminar on ethical considerations relating to pro bono representations. Then representatives from a large and diverse group of legal service providers and other non-profit entities will provide information about opportunities for lawyers to perform pro bono work. This will include information regarding transactional, as well as litigation-related, pro bono opportunities. Newly-admitted and experienced attorneys also are encouraged to attend, as are legal support and administrative personnel, to find out about the missions of not-for-profit entities and volunteer opportunities.
