PLI's Fifth Annual Adoption Law Institute will provide you with a comprehensive update on the latest developments in the fast-changing field of adoption law and the implications of these developments for your practice. The faculty and the Course Handbook materials will provide practice tips and practical solutions for a broad range of issues that legal, medical, and social work professionals commonly confront in adoption cases.

What You Will Learn Practice tips and new developments in agency and private placement adoptions Ethical considerations in representing birthparents: obtaining accurate background information and the lawyer's duty to investigate; new cases on wrongful adoption The role of attorneys for children, guardians ad litem, and social workers Current medical issues in domestic and intercountry adoptions New developments in intercountry adoption and immigration legislation and regulations.

PLEASE NOTE: PLI is also offering a Live Webcast of the Program. This means that you can view this program from your office or even at home on your computer. We can also set up a Group Cast which would enable a number of attorneys from your office to view the program at once.

Full and partial scholarships to attend PLI's programs or view a webcast are available to legal aid and government attorneys, law professors, judges, judicial clerks, law students and employees of nonprofit organizations. Scholarship applications must be submitted at least four weeks prior to the program you wish to attend.
