Learn how to help obtain lawful immigration status for undocumented NYC youth who have been abused, abandoned, or neglected. The training will focus on Special Immigrant Juvenile Status ("SIJS"), a pathway to permanent residence for youth in foster care or non parental custody arrangements. The training will provide an overview of the laws and institutions involved in SIJS, and guidance for pro bono lawyers working with undocumented youth.
