Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation Guardian ad Litem Training October 7, 2008 - 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. State Bar of Georgia Headquarters

Atlanta Volunteer Lawyers Foundation will hold a training for all interested in becoming a Guardian ad Litem in contested proceedings involving children in Family Court.

Prospective guardians will be trained in:

  • the stages of child development
  • the psychological impact of custody decisions on children
  • the nuts and bolts of the guardian investigation
  • ethical issues for guardians
  • Court rules and case law

Trained Guardians will be eligible to receive cases from AVLF and continued support.

The training is also accepted by other Courts for GALS. The cost of the training is $175 which covers materials, CLE credit and lunch. 8 CLE credits are available including 1 ethics and 3 professionalism credits. Scholarships are available. Email ddees@avlf.org.
