Help low-income domestic violence survivors get essential protective orders to escape the violence and create a safe environment for their children by providing limited scope pro bono representation at their restraining order hearing. Project Description and Pro Bono Referral Process: Self-represented domestic violence survivors prepare and receive an ex parte Temporary Restraining Order through Bay Area Legal Aid's Domestic Violence Restraining Order Clinic. Pro bono attorneys receive a copy of all legal pleadings and supporting information approximately two weeks before their pre-scheduled hearing (every Wednesday at 2pm in Redwood City and 9am alternating Fridays in S. SF) from Legal Aid Society of San Mateo County (LASSMCO). CORA staff attorneys and mentors are available to answer questions and are available on the day of the hearing to answer any questions.

  • CLE Credit Comments: Support for all pro bono cases includes:MCLE training; Malpractice insurance; and Mentorship from experienced family law attorneys
