The Santa Monica Courthouse Domestic Violence Clinic helps victims of abuse with Temporary Restraining Orders and other aspects of family law, including divorce, child support, and child custody.

Volunteer attorneys and law students work directly with victims of abuse to help them escape their batterers and begin new, independent lives. The Clinic is open weekday mornings from 8:30 a.m. to noon. Volunteers must stay until all clients are seen, occasionally as late as 12:30 or 1:00 p.m.

Volunteer attorneys must commit to attending at least one clinic per month for at least six months. Volunteer law students must attend at least one clinic per week for a semester, approximately 15-18 clinics. Bilingual Spanish speaking volunteers are needed. All volunteers must apply and be approved prior to attending a training.
