VLSP's Landlord Tenant (Eviction Defense) project assists low-income clients facing eviction in San Francisco. Volunteer attorneys are needed to provide full representation to clients during their eviction proceedings. All legal discovery tools are made available so this is a great way to gain experience in depositions and in preparing discovery requests and motions. Volunteers have the opportunity to engage in negotiation and trial work.

This training is free and volunteers commit to provide representation to two clients within the training year. Malpractice insurance is provided for these cases only. VLSP welcomes new and experienced attorneys from all areas of practive to volunteer with this project. Eviction prevention and defense is a meaningful way to prevent homelessness in San Francisco.
